This WEB site is dedicated to the study of Bible prophecies. These studies are new and it is likely that prophecies have not been looked at this way before. Yet, the usefulness of new insights is not a novelty itself. God has not revealed all for all to know all the time. The Apostles have seen and spoken to the very author of prophecies and today we all know that even they did not understand specifics of future prophecy. Their ignorance was at times astonishing. For the scholar, these interpretations are from the perspective of historicism. For the layman, that translates to a study of fulfilled prophecy rather than foretelling through interpretation what will come about in the future. We believe that there is more to be gained in understanding fulfilled prophecies than in guessing what will happen in the unknown future. History is filled with the obsession of "what will happen according to this and that verse". The volumes of such writings are seemingly infinite. To gain a sense of sobriety, one needs to consider the list of failures associated with guessing or interpreting "what will happen." The list of failures is just as big as the list of "future-interpretation" writings, yet the fascination with guessing, like the allure of gambling seems impossible to overcome, for many. We have become accustomed to thinking of prophecy as information intended for the readers to see and understand the specifics of the future. This polarizing pull is so great that we often fail to see plain evidence in the Scriptures, which suggests that prophecy cannot be understood before it is fulfilled. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. (John 14:29 KJV) This impressive comment, from the Savior, deals with this very topic. It suggests that belief can be suspended until the prophecy is fulfilled. Fortunately, there are so many prophecies for all time that no one has to wait for long to see or be familiarized with some historic fulfillment. This was clearly anticipated by the Savior. We can find support for this idea from the greatest of prophets. Daniel, the prophet, was given a long-term prophecy and he could not understand it. He tried and even asked fiends to help him. It was baffling to him, yet, Jeremiah's prophecy concerning the 70 years captivity in Babylon he understood perfectly well, once it was fulfilled. A year after the prophecy was fulfilled, Daniel writes about it. In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. (Dan 9:2 KJV) In this tidal wave of aspiring to know the unknown, many have overlooked that understanding fulfilled prophecies avails infinitely more benefits. Seeing the handiwork of God and how He has arranged and played a part in the history of this planet, we gain an assurance that we are not alone. In comparison to the perpetual readjustments and unfulfilled expectations of "guessing", historicism offers a hope of value infinitely higher that any of its competitors. We hope that you will enjoy your time here and these readings and we invite you to comment all you wish on any main topic we introduce to you.
